A New Summer Learning Opportunity
As summer quickly approaches, it can be difficult for parents to make definitive plans for their children, especially given these unprecedented times. With this in mind, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) has been hard at work developing solutions to make sure that no matter what happens, students across the country will have access to our inspiring Camp Invention® curriculum.
Because the proven benefits of Camp Invention occur when students and certified local teachers collaborate in person, we are doing everything we can to keep local camps running. These measures include working closely with districts to push back start dates and ensure camp locations adhere to social distancing and the strictest health and sanitizing guidelines.
The fun of camp delivered to your doorstep
If a Camp Invention site is unable to run a program as originally planned, we are excited to offer a brand-new learning experience: Camp Invention Connect™. Informed by data collected from numerous focus groups, this new program was created specifically to address teacher and parent needs.
Camp Invention Connect represents a completely different type of distance learning and enables hands-on exploration by delivering a set of four activity kits directly to each participant. These kits are packed with materials that bring our new Elevate curriculum to life. Throughout the program week, children learn the value of creativity and perseverance as they go outside, get active and experiment with the contents of their kits. They can also enhance their experience through virtual collaboration with their peers and benefit from real-time guidance from certified educators.
What this means for parents
For parents who have already signed up their child for Camp Invention, be on the lookout for an email informing you if your camp has pushed back its start date, changed locations or has transitioned to a Camp Invention Connect program. If your camp converts to a Camp Invention Connect program, we will ship all the necessary materials straight to your home and provide links to access the virtual collaboration options.
Once you receive a message from NIHF regarding the updated status of your camp, you then have the opportunity to reach out to our customer service team if there is a conflict with the revised dates or format.
