Find the Joy of Teaching at Camp Invention

Partners in STEM Real NIHF Stories

Just as every student is unique, so is every educator. But one thing all educators have in common is the ability to benefit from getting involved in experiences that reenergize their spirit, renew their focus and remind them of why they chose to become a teacher. That’s exactly what thousands of educators have found at Camp Invention®.

Since 1990, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® has partnered with educators across the country to offer this confidence-building, imagination-stretching, hands-on STEM and invention education summer camp for grades K-6.

The National Inventors Hall of Fame provides educators with everything they need to easily implement each year’s brand-new curriculum. Many educators who get involved with camp look forward to returning year after year because they appreciate the difference it makes, both for their students and for themselves.

What Are Educators Saying About Camp Invention?

“Jump in with both feet and you won’t regret it! It is so crucial that students get the opportunity to experiment, fail and try again. Camp Invention provides a safe and fun environment for that to happen. Learning becomes new and exciting, innovation seems possible and failure is seen as the stepping stone toward success. I grew immensely as an educator, and if you give this a shot I know you will too.”
— Rachel Hunt, Camp Invention Instructor

“I'm in the classroom getting so excited. It’s just as much fun for me setting it up as it is for students to walk in and see it.”
— Hannah James, Camp Invention Instructor

“The skills from Camp Invention have helped me use more engaging lessons in my own classroom, so that students are more involved in their own learning and then they retain the information better. These skills also help me plan more engaging lessons and then take a step back and let the students do the learning.”
— Melissa Snow, Camp Invention Instructor

“The skills I’ve gained through Camp Invention have helped me to keep a student-discovery-centered classroom all year round.”
 — Alyssa Thomas, Camp Invention Instructor

“I would say most definitely do it — it’s the most amazing week you’ll ever have! The kids learn so much — they really just have so much fun. I’m glad I get to be a part of the program. I can’t wait to do it again.”
— Natasha Craft, Camp Invention Director

“As much fun as we're having, I'm also becoming a better person and educator too. Every day, I'm learning new things about myself and how to be a better educator.”
— Riley James, Camp Invention Instructor

“It's going to inspire your own teaching. And the feedback I get from parents and students is always so positive. So if you're thinking about bringing camp to your district, I strongly, strongly encourage it.”
— Kelly Werner, Camp Invention Director
