Thanks to the dedication of our education team, each summer the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) remakes the curriculum of our flagship STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program, Camp Invention®. Throughout our extensive 20-month curriculum development process, we design activities that inspire the next generation of innovators.
Camp Invention Flight Lab™ is one of four modules in our all-new 2020 Camp Invention program, Elevate. Read below to learn what your child can look forward to in this action-packed program.

In Camp Invention Flight Lab, children explore the principles of flight with the assistance of their very own robots. Their imaginations will soar as they construct paper planes and gliders and launch rockets, heliballs and hand-copters. Campers will also build a cityscape out of upcycled materials, navigate their planes through a storm and take apart a personalized LINK robot they will take home with them at the end of the program.
Students who attend Camp Invention have the opportunity to develop essential 21st-century skills, including perseverance, entrepreneurship and problem solving. By participating in interactive hands-on activities throughout the week, children work together to find solutions to real-world problems. By collaborating in groups to overcome challenges, children can build their confidence as creators who aren’t afraid to take risks and challenge the status quo. Because each day is unique and packed with exciting activities, your child will remain engaged and have so much fun that they won’t even realize that they’re learning.
Recent research sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation supports the effectiveness of Camp Invention and found that attending one week of camp produced statistically significant improvements in creativity, STEM interest and the ability to apply problem-solving techniques.
