Save Your Child's Spot at Camp Today!
In one of four brand-new experiences, campers will embark on an epic space mission to transform a faraway planet for future habitation in Space Morphers™. Read on to learn how children will explore inspiring space innovations, discover environmental science and build a DIY space rocket!
Launch an Epic Space Mission
In Space Morphers, campers stretch their imagination and launch a mission to terraform a faraway planet’s atmosphere, terrain and ecosystem for animals and people to live. As they explore cutting-edge space innovations, design prototypes and explore Earth’s systems, campers dream up new possibilities to design and build inventions for navigating the intense conditions of their new planet.
Setting their sights on distant galaxies, children practice design thinking and engineering as they build and personalize their own DIY space rocket! Together, campers have a blast experimenting with launch angles and trajectory to make their rocket take flight. Gleaning inspiration from the space innovations developed by National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees Rob Bryant and Virginia Norwood, they develop a prototype device with a Solar Sail and satellite. Next, children unleash their creativity and problem-solving skills to create a unique planet model using foam beads, clay, UV light and glow-in-the-dark paint. As campers spark innovative thinking for their planet's transformation, they analyze and interpret data from maps to describe patterns of Earth’s features.
As children express their creativity, study environmental patterns and work together to terraform their planet, they observe the interdependent relationships between plants, animals and humans within ecosystems. Next, they participate in a high-energy Rover Race to collect important water, mineral and soil samples. Making new discoveries, campers record scientific observations as they grow a dazzling crystal tree and hatch a mysterious animal egg in the Space Lab.
