Arrow Electronics is Our 2021 Collegiate Inventors Competition People’s Choice Award Sponsor

The National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) is once again proud to join forces with Arrow Electronics to bring the People’s Choice Award back for this year’s Collegiate Inventors Competition® (CIC)! Because of Arrow Electronics’ commitment to guiding innovation forward, and their belief in the importance of invention in our society, their relationship with NIHF has been a successful one.

Thanks to Arrow Electronics’ generosity, the winner of the People’s Choice Award, as selected by the voting public, will receive $2,000 cash and an exclusive Inductee mentorship prize that includes a video call with a NIHF Inductee.

Arrow Electronics has been a supporter of CIC since 2014 and was also the People’s Choice Award sponsor in 2019 and in 2020. When asked why it has continued to support CIC throughout the years, the company expressed its gratitude and desire to continue supporting innovation at the collegiate level.

“The competitors come from across the United States and their diversity demonstrates how innovation is happening everywhere,” said Joe Verrengia, corporate social responsibility director at Arrow Electronics, in an interview with NIHF. “We share their dedication to making people’s lives better with technology.”

As a Fortune 110 company, Arrow Electronics works with over 175,000 leading technology manufacturers and service providers and is motivated by the desire to make the benefits of technology accessible to as many people around the world as possible. This mission can also be seen in its corporate social responsibility efforts, as it supports innovative ideas and initiatives that make the world a better place, and that includes the collegiate inventors competing in CIC.

“Collaborating with NIHF, and by extension with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, provides Arrow with the opportunity to participate in the innovation process and support ideas that promise to transform the way we look at technology, ourselves and the world,” Verrengia said.

By sponsoring this year’s People’s Choice Award, the company will highlight groundbreaking technologies developed by students at some of the country’s most innovative universities. In addition to CIC, Arrow Electronics has long supported a variety of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) initiatives, ranging from sponsoring student competitions and funding teacher training to recognizing and advancing STEM-focused schools and educators.
