Inspire your child this summer with a fun, hands-on experience that will spark their imagination while introducing them to the fundamentals of several STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) related career paths! Every year, our National Inventors Hall of Fame® education team develops engaging, hands-on STEAM curricula inspired by our Hall of Famers.
Check out a few of the future careers that campers will have the opportunity to explore this summer in the all-new 2023 Camp Invention® program, Wonder!
Entrepreneur
In Pop-Up Venture™, campers learn fundamental skills of entrepreneurship as they launch their dream business. Children are tasked with creating a business plan for their pop-up shop and make decisions on products and décor while also considering expenses and marketing. Campers design solutions to overcome real-world challenges that come with owning a business, like inclement weather.
Physicist
Catching Air™ lets children skate through physics, engineering and creative thinking as they build their ideal mini skatepark. As they take on new challenges, campers explore basic principles of physics like gravity and friction in accessible, kid-friendly ways. Children are then encouraged to put their understanding of these concepts to the test as they try out rad tricks with their mini skateboards.
Designer
Perfect for encouraging kids to celebrate both big and small victories, Invention Celebration™ invites campers to bring their awesome ideas to life. From constructing a one-of-a-kind musical instrument to inventing a custom party assistant to help plan an awesome event, campers learn the process designers must follow when brainstorming, testing and executing a project. Throughout the week, children learn that their ideas have value and that their hard work is something to celebrate.
Geneticist
In MimicBot™, children get an early idea of what they might study in the future with a career as a geneticist. Campers unleash the power of genetics as they take inspiration from nature and DNA to design their own unique walking, talking animatronic stuffie. They learn how species use tactics such as camouflage to trick predators or trap prey, discover the importance of intellectual property and aim to successfully protect their one-of-a-kind stuffie from a Copy Cat.
