Why We Choose Local Educators to Serve as Camp Invention Instructors

When it comes to selecting the right educational summer program for your child, finding a place where they feel safe and comfortable is essential. Because each child is unique in how they learn, the most effective educators are those who customize their teaching to fit the needs of the children in their care. For this reason, the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF) partners with certified local educators to teach all of our education programs.

Read below to find out more about why local educators can make all the difference in providing the very best summer learning experiences!

Local Educators Make All the Difference

Research from the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Research School Initiative found that when students feel comfortable in their surroundings, they are happier and therefore perform better in school. Key to developing this comfort and happiness are the relationships that students cultivate over time with both their classmates and teachers. These connections are deeply meaningful and embracing them is a crucial way to maintain a student’s interest in what they’re learning.

Because of this, all of our education programs, including the Camp Invention® program, are taught by certified local teachers who often know many of the camp participants from their districts and classrooms. This relationship that our Instructors have grown over time creates a level of trust that allows for truly innovative learning. Paired with our flexible curriculum that allow educators to customize activities to fit the needs of each student, and our low camper to teacher ratios, NIHF is able to provide all children with the very best STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning experience.

In this type of environment, children feel comfortable enough to explore and take risks through the act of play. Recognizing a familiar face on the first day of camp can go a long way in helping children feel grounded and secure enough to try new things.
