2026 Camp Invention Inspires Kids to Explore Summer STEM Fun Through Forensics and Ocean Discoveries

Leading Summer Camp Makes Inventing Relatable and Fun

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Oct. 15, 2025 — For 35 years, Camp Invention® has developed confidence and problem-solving skills in young innovators through authentic, hands-on STEM activities. In the newly announced 2026 program, Spark, campers will discover the science behind forensic skills, planet terraforming, ocean discoveries and intellectual property!

Camp Invention, a program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame® in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, provides a unique experience for children to make discoveries about the importance of intellectual property while exploring, creating and designing. Camp promotes STEM learning; builds leadership, perseverance and resourcefulness; and encourages entrepreneurship — in an exciting and engaging environment.

“My son attended Camp Invention, and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience for him,” said the parent of a 2025 camper. “The camp’s focus on creativity, problem solving and innovation truly sparked his curiosity and imagination. He not only gained valuable skills but also developed a newfound confidence in his abilities!”

Each year, the program features a new curriculum inspired by some of our nation’s greatest innovators — the National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees. For 2026, the Spark curriculum features exclusive video content from these Inductees encouraging children to be confident in their ideas and explore their ability to innovate. These hands-on experiences include:

  • Space Morphers: Kids build a DIY rocket and launch an epic mission to transform a new planet’s atmosphere, terrain and ecosystem. After a high-energy Rover Race to collect samples and data, they grow dazzling crystal trees and hatch a mysterious animal egg in a Space Lab.

  • Make Waves: Campers ride the waves of entrepreneurship and invention! Inspired by modern-day surfboard design, they create prototypes, pitch their innovative products to hook investors and build a billboard boat to set sail and “make waves” in the market.

  • Fur-ensics: Kids sharpen their animal detective skills with Cap E. Bara and a fleet of robotic capybaras. They investigate a trail of footprints, collect bits of fluffy fur and examine suspicious splatters before forensically analyzing evidence that has a surprising twist.

  • The Infringers: Campers use their invention superpowers to solve challenges in their community and around the world. They miniaturize top-secret innovations, safeguard their designs using cryptography and protect their intellectual property from The Infringers.

Local programs are facilitated and taught by qualified local educators. Annually, Camp Invention programs benefit 140,000 children and partner with 2,600 schools and districts across the nation. Educators and school districts can partner with Camp Invention in 2026 by visiting invent.org/camp.
