Four Community Partners That Can Help Engage Your Students

Trends in STEM

Strong community partnerships are at the heart of the Engage Every Student initiative. This ongoing call to action to provide high-quality, out-of-school-time learning opportunities for students nationwide relies on the support of community partners. This support can take many forms, including programs your students can enjoy and free resources your district can use for a wide range of grades and ages.

The Engage Every Student initiative collaborates with five coordinating partners and more than 20 allied organizations. Read below to learn more about a few of these groups and the resources they provide.

American Camp Association

For over 100 years, the American Camp Association has brought together a community of camp professionals to share their knowledge and experience in ensuring program quality. In addition to helping people find accredited summer camp experiences, the organization offers a variety of resources including professional development, fundraising advice, strategies to support diversity, and research and evaluations showing the effectiveness of high-quality out-of-school programs.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s mission is to help all children, especially those most in need of opportunities, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. Its 4,300 Clubs serve close to 4 million young people through a range of programs including sports and recreation, health and wellness, career development and the arts. Given the organization’s national reach, it’s likely a Club near you can provide your students with beneficial experiences.

National AfterSchool Association

The National AfterSchool Association positions itself as the voice of the afterschool education profession. Its resources include access to training and professional development for afterschool program staff, as well as publications that reflect best-practice thinking. Association members gain additional benefits including discounts, advocacy resources and exclusive publications.

National Inventors Hall of Fame®

For more than 30 years, the National Inventors Hall of Fame has developed hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs for students nationwide. In addition to providing customizable PreK-8 curricula inspired by Inductees – Our Nation’s Greatest Innovators – and designed for in-school, afterschool or summer learning, the Hall of Fame offers a variety of free content for families, educators and students, including learning resources, blogs and videos exploring creativity and innovation.
