Accounting Coordinator
Location: Akron, Ohio
Background:
- Full-time
- Work hours – 8am-5pm
About the Position: The Accounting Coordinator will serve as member of the Finance team responsible for providing accounting support of the organization’s national enrichment programs. The Coordinator will be responsible for A/R functions, inclusive of billing, and processing of invoices, checks, payments and other deposits. In addition, the Coordinator will track relevant account data to generate company required reports.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews and reconciles closeouts for Camp Invention by verifying the number of campers and confirming receipt of payment
- Processes invoices for licensed camps, clubs, and scholarships
- Works closely with Customer Service to ensure accounts remain current
- Works closely with the sales field in tracking of voucher information to provide the field with needed reports used for scholarship distribution
- Assists in preparing other financial reports and spreadsheets for the field
- Responsible for cash receipt and reconciliation of museum store sales
- Receives, records cash receipts
- Verifies cost accounting and accounts receivable in order to ensure accuracy
- Provides cross-functional support to other members of the finance team
- Processes customer refunds
- NSF follow up
- Processes credit card statements of INK staff
- Provides event and project based administrative support as needed
Qualificatons:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance and 2 years accounting experience
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with A/R and billing
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with accounting software
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work and respond to changing business needs
- Excellent organizational skills
Graphics Assistant
Location: Akron, Ohio
Background:
- Part-time/seasonal - October thru March 2010
- Work hours – 8am-5pm
About the Position: Excellent opportunity for a student seeking to gain hands-on experience in the area of graphic design through a seasonal position with Invent Now Kids, located in West Akron. Invent Now Kids, a subsidiary of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc., develops and provides innovative products and programming that inspires invention and creativity in children from pre-kindergarten to grade 12.
The Graphics Assistant will be responsible for customization of existing marketing artwork for print by our national sales force. Materials include flyers, brochures, ads, etc. The ideal candidate will possess experience and be proficient in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. Individual must have a keen eye for detail, be open to constructive criticism – willingly making changes as directed, and work well under pressure. This position requires excellent communication skills, as it entails working directly with our national sales force via telephone and e-mail. Must be able to work independently within a team environment, possess a “can do” attitude, and maintain a customer service mentality.
This position will run from October thru March of 2010 and offers approximately 24 hours per week (between the hours of 8am and 5pm) at $10/hour.
